okay here are the photos for our wsc orientation which took place eons ago.. see what we were playing was some sort of an amazing race, but on the way, we had a bonus task to take photo with ppl from different nationalities; the more photos we take the more bonus points we will get! :)

this is the first person we took photo with.. after asking him, then we realised he wasn't a foreigner! -.-'' but he was nice enough to fake and take photo with us nwae. wahahaa. and he still wished us good luck for our game after tt! :)

ok this person also very cute.. from his tee u can tell he's from canada.. hahaha. and he said "my last name is Bean, as in Mr. Bean" wahahah so cute.

and this family is so uberly nice. i forgot where he's from..but they are husband+wife+mother coming for hols.. then we approached the guy, and he still tell us her wife from another nationality, so we can get extra points! :)

oh and this is just one of the silly things we were made to do - star jump at the fountain @ bugis junction! hahaa. but i uber love this photo... everyone looked so happy! :D

oh and this guy was from Scotland. then he was so excited saying like their soccer team rocks.. then after he walked away jul whispered to me "actually i dun dare to tell him i support England one.." hahahaa

and we headed to Mustafa Centre after that..

and even after that, Little India.. which explains the video you were all baffled about in my previous post - we were supposed to find any shop playing indian music and dance to it. hahaha. and i tot the video was funny coz of the two guys at the side.. the 2nd one from the left go and twirl one round like christmas tree, then the 1st guy saw and followed suit! *PENGZ* i watched until i nearly cried. hahaha~

and this was at the cruise centre at harbourfront.. so pretty rite this lady? i forgot where she was from le.. heh.

and this guy was super friendly and super funny! he was happily talking to us, asking us whether we know where's Fiji(his hometown).. then our senior suddenly chipped in sheepishly, "uhhhh is that ur group? i think they're going off without u!" then he panicked and picked up all his luggage and blah, faster byebye liao and went chasing after them! LOL. he was so super cute laaa!! and NICE! :)

wah this photo is so rare! the person on the left is a bangladeshi, and the guy on the right is a south african. and they didn't know each other de, just sitting beside each other on the train.. then we went up to them and approached both of them together, so they ended up in the same photo. wahaha~ but the guy on the right moved away to another seat after that -_-'''

and this is the condom shop in town. super wu liao. we were supposed to catch a couple walking into the shop to get something. but we are not crazy enough to do such thing, so they decided to push me and the other poor guy to die, i.e. pose as the couple instead -_-''' which i think we all unanimously decided in the end that it didn't looked scandalous enough. owells~ *phew* i can do WITHOUT another scandal!

25/26th October 2007 - Laugh at Huiting All You Want Day(s)

hahaa. WSC was fun on thurs.. felt much better than the first session. was Laugh at Me-ish though. i think i was the clown of the nite, in that short 1 hour. wahahaha. but i had my fair share of fun and happiness, and everyone had fun too, i believe. =)

today was crazy. haven't pulled such a stunt in a long time, i.e. one sem.
we camped at LWN again.
yes, for 12 hours.
yes, we all know it's the time of the year again. sigh.

on a brighter note, today was fun! we had special guests adding on to our misery! oh oh! and we found out today too that jul is a GOLDFISH in disguise!! wahahaha~ super funny! her memory span is like 2 seconds..and she keeps forgetting that she eaten liao.. nyahahaa~ *sniggers*

when the hols are here for too long, i crave for school to start. when school starts, i await the hols hungrily.

ytd nite i spotted an opened bottle of red wine. so i happily poured HALF a cup. and as i replaced the cork back, my eyes went wide at the label which said "alcohol content: 14%". and so i thought, half a cup only, just drink lor since already poured. so i drank a THIRD of the nasty half cup of red stuff.

and viola! my skin started blotching red patches. uh oh. i took the remaining 2/3 of the 1/2 cup (2/3 x 1/2 = 1/3.. haha.) to mummy

me: hey do u wanna drink? my skin's turning a weird colour, i think i better stop drinking..
mummy: *gasps* you dare to drink ar?! i don't dare leh.. i got feng mo de.. so don't dare to drink.
me: huh? got feng mo cannot drink de meh?
mummy: ya.. some ppl got feng mo will have alcohol allergy..
me: hehhhhh... REALLY AR!? *stares at red blotches on arms in dismay*

so in my panick, i stopped all work and splattered aloe vera cream on my body, thinking that if i'm gonna start itching sooner or later, i might as well slp the itch away. so as i was washing up, i caught myself blushing so prettily in the mirror! ^^ and i just had to sms yk so that he could laugh at my 'gruesome resident evil' skin. then i went off to bed straightaway praying hard in my dreams. and i woke up to occassional slight itches, but waved them off with more aloe cream.

then i woke up cheerfully to my visibly nicer looking not-so-red skin. thinking i've conquered the devil, i got up to bathe and the blood started flowing and my WHOLE body started looking sunburnt! -.-''' uh oh. and the itch was starting to kick in.

not wanting to alarm the rest and not wanting to visit a dumb gp, i looked for acid to neutralise the alcohol. but i found none, so i drank water instead. haha can't find acid so use pH7! fits in the logic of "no fish, shrimp also good!". so i drank almost a litre of pH7...and the blotches actually DISPERSED!! *wooohoooooo!* felt so smart!

so i just went about the rest of the morning drinking lots of water and continue slathering aloe cream. then went to meet mabbie to study at the airport! ^^ and after i came back and bathe, the blotches appeared again, worse than before! O_O and the itch started getting bad. miraculously, it only appeared everywhere that was covered by my teeshirt, so my family didn't noticed anything! :p hahahaa.

so i sat down for dinner which was yummy 一品锅 (if you duno wad's that, check the dictionary chinese restaurant menu :p). and if you have known me for ages, or if you happen to be the aunty selling bachor mee in SAJC, you would know how passionately i hate VINEGAR. but i went mad and added like more than TWO TABLESPOONS of vinegar into my soup. and mum looked at me like i was some intruder who just joined her i-love-vinegar-club.

hey presto! alcohol neutralised!! :)) it's not even itching the slightest bit now! ^^ heh. bravo! huiting is such a smart girl. the practical applications of science (acid + alkali = H2O!) + psychology (placebo effect!) = self cure!! =)

down with psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, electroconvulsive therapy and whatnot. all huiting needs is to ban herself from alcohol!! =((((((((((

and after what we thought was a break from all the tests drowning us, we returned with MORE work piled up than ever. so much work that we start skipping useless lectures on a regular basis. skipped so many lectures that when our tuts are different, we hardly get to see each other!

so when my dear bobo suddenly appeared before fred's lec on wed, i was so stunned that i froze awhile, looked at her, before saying hi again. hahahaa. *no offense, darling!* it just didn't occurred to me all the time i was reading her blog regularly, that i actually have not seen her for an entire WEEK already! O_O and so we had to make up for that by talking nonstop during lecture. =X hahahaa sorry for disturbing everyone else!!!! -apologetic look- hehe. really miss bobo and mm alot after their disappearing act! =( pls appear more often before u'all vanish for your exchange progs next sem, or your dear manic pres will cry missing you'all everyday!! =P

heh heh. hurried back to sch to meet some of the manics for dinner after ytd's tuition. was estactic! even though it was only a very short meet up. feels nice eating with all you guys again at the beloved can14! =) ESP. with BOBO!! hahahaa. everything feels nice with her nowadays..coz i only start to treasure her after she's gone........ *sobs miserably* lol soap opera! =) but manics seriously nv properly sit down to eat together in school for such a long time already. this sem has really been a busy one..and everyone starts having different tuts and skipping different lectures..so we hardly get to eat together liao. come to think of it, the only meal we had together with all 9 of us present was like...my bdae? =( hmmm! let's try to eat together more often? hahaa. then we headed down to study in the reading room with loud music blasting from the hall outside where there was an ongoing HALLOWEEN PARTY. hahahhaaa. and stephie insisted that it sounded like a t-rex was stomping his way in. i swear i have a cute roomie (ting, 2007).

ok and we had bfast with qiqi today morning! =) and the toast-bread uncle still rmbs me!! hahahaa. i bet he's gonna rmb me for life for the stunt i pulled the first time i went! ahahas. =X oh oh and we studied at lwn until arnd 4! so productive can.. hahaa. but jul steph and i went crazy after we came back from lunch. hahahahaa. we started talking abt swimming in canteen and playing pass-the-bracelet. hahahahaa. then jul and xian's bfs came and they shook hands -.-''' *pengs* hahahaa. then jul's bf wanted his darling to die of stinkiness by putting the keys in the smelliest shoes! wahahahaha. can die. we jus all went mad. =)

when we were learning about suicide in abnormal psych, we were told that some ppl commit suicide after they gain insight about the state of physical/mental illness they were in. i didn't think much of that until we spoke to M at the talk today. i tried putting myself into his shoes, and it was horrible. being able to live life passionately hadn't occurred to me as a luxury; it was more like something that came to me naturally. but when i picture having the privilege seized away, i can no longer appreciate the existential meaning of life.

all the talk about D left me feeling rotten too. was reminded about the times of distress we both went thru' and how badly i treated you. everything fits into the puzzle perfectly, and suddenly i felt like one big rotten egg when i chose not to believe you. it was like *bham*; i left you fighting all alone when you needed me most. and what made me feel worse is that if life were rewinded now, i'm not sure if i dowan to make the same mistake again. it's not a matter of an eye for an eye; it's just a matter of not wanting to expose myself to vulnerability and hurt again in the midst of helping you coz i know i would falter.

back to the hot topic of why we all choose to major in psychology. as a budding teenager, i pictured myself saying the right words at the right time to end the horrible disputes my parents were having at that time. but when it all ended, and i grew old enough to notice all the unhappy ppl around me, i wanted to reach out and help. so i worked hard to pursue the dream, and you could literally picture me jumping about and screaming with the acceptance letter in my hand.

but after a year of slogging at my dream and unveiling the unglamness of it all, i'm not sure of what i want anymore. yes, i still want to help others; but i'm not sure if i'm willing to help others at the extent of making myself miserable. it's hard and i'm still learning to cope. like i pointed out earlier, the harshness of insight drove many to their graves. and i don't know if i have the threshold to continue discovering what cruelty and depressiveness the world and its ppl has to offer. i couldn't read newspapers coz they were too cruel; but learning about how another is sufferring an uncurable illness is worse. and just putting myself in the person's shoes alone drives me mad. insight - knowing too much of the truth hurts. coz you realise no matter how hard you try, you can never put things right.

learned helplessness and depressive realism. that's what i'm starting to feel strongly.

Gorilla (2007) claimed that "When Huiting isn't smiling or laughing, she isn't Huiting." but i can't smile at somebody who's not enjoying life but have to look like he does. i can't laugh knowing that there are so many fortune's fools out there who can't change the sorry state they are in no matter how hard they try.

sigh. it ain't even the time of the month yet!

have been pouring myself into journal articles since the crack of dawn....haha k la..not so kuazhang. late morning. and after drinking in 3 whole articles which totalled up to more than 40pages, i feel like i've just completed a chapter of abnormal psych tb. hahaha. it's the format of the papers i'm talking about. the difference in reading articles and tb though, is that articles leave you feeling more wasted and confused than textbooks do. =X

and why can't all articles be big, nice, and clearly spaced out like singapore's? hahaa. maybe they don't have to tailor the articles in US for high myopic populations.

mummy's cooking crab for dinner! ahahaas. i'm so spoilt for food choice this wk! (: and the poor crabs were alive and crawling when they were brought 'home'. but after i woke up from my 1/2hr break, they had chopsticks stuffed up their i-duno-wad/s! *eeeeew* i dun like such gory sights! the last time mummy made me pull out all the heads and legs of the raw prawns, i got so traumatised and nearly cried *shudders* now you know why i wasn't very keen on eating the prawns during steamboat - not just bcos i don't really fancy the taste of prawns, but............ bwah. hahaa.
moral of the story: don't make me cook or kill anything with eyes that i'm supposed to eat after that.

and prawns remind me of what reuben said.. there's a new type of vegetarian style, and you're allowed to eat PRAWNS. coz apparently some ppl found out that if you pulled out the legs or head or whatever of the prawn, it actually doesn't hurt them! -.-''' oh i didn't know the very purpose of going vegetarian in the first place was so that you eat stuff that don't feel hurt when they are killed? =X ok i still find that weird O_O

sigh. the weather outside's glorious right now.. i miss swimming! =( haven't been exercising since 1st wk of sch...feel so unhealthy! the next time i get to buy my own house, i'm so gonna get a condo with gym and pool, or just live somewhere near the gym and pool!!

and finally 9.30am marked the temporary end to all my miseries. i stepped out of my maths quiz in a daze, feeling pissed as usual, but relieved. then i flocked down to meet mab and we took the 179A which zoomed out of school with only 3 passengers on board. *WOOHOO!* hahahaa. never had such a shuang 179 ride before! lol.

and we ate SUBWAY! wahahaa. yea yea yea, i know i sound repressed. hahaha. but i'm not as bad as xian ok (look at her tagboard!). yea, sounds weird having subway for bfast. but it's not our fault that all the nice bfast around are not available today! -.- hahaha.

yay! feel so ru shi zhong fu after today morning! was supposed to mug in sch until 2.30pm before leaving for my 4pm tuition. but after 204 ytd, i decided i couldn't take all the mugging anymore. so i stoned and attempted to study, and watched tv and blah before going for my maths quiz in the morning. -huiting convinces herself it's alrite to fail the 2% quiz- then i came back home and stoned and watched somemore tv before my tuition later.
