i can't rmb the last time i felt so horribly lost doing a maths assignment...
The Story of London Bridge

....

x: eh! actually London Bridge is a very sad song leh! imagine the bridge really come falling down! yikes! why would they want to make up such a song!

t: uhh.. ya lor ya lor. i have no idea why. i've always tot it's weird too.. especially the "my fair lady.." part... so random!! is it trying to warn the fair lady not to drop into the water!?

x: my fair lady.... eh actually how does the song goes liao ar? i forget le leh!

t: -_-''' *sings very boredly* "london bridge is falling down falling down falling down *blahblahblah* ..is falling down, my fair ladyyyyyy!"

x: orhh... ya ya ya! eee ya lor ya lor. why they want the lady to drop into the water!!

t & x thinks deeply.

t: no leh. i think you play the game then u raise ur arms, and the lady keep going back and fro, until you "my fair lady!" then the lady kenna giap... so it's trying to say the fair lady like to cross the bridge, then cross here cross there every day. so they sing the song to warn the fair lady don't keep crossing already, the bridge going to collapse le, then will giap dao ni!

x: hmmm. yea. makes a bit of sense..

...

x: eh! but no leh! can also see it as the fair lady crossing the bridge then the bridge fall down and the lady drop into the water le ma. so weird!! why they want the lady to drop into the water!!?

t: eh... is lidat de meh? =X *tries to repeat her version of justification again* ....

x: eh! i used to like to play the game leh!

t: ya ya! i also like!

x: i like to be the bridge! yay! i like to giap ppl!!

t: o_O uhhh...

x: eh! what you like to be!? you like to giap ppl too!?

t: ermmmm. i don't like to be giap-ed, but i just don't exactly love giaping ppl either... -_-'''

x: yay! tingting loves to be giaped!! next time we can play London Bridge together!! then you can be the fair lady!!

t: ??

even stephie declares my blurness contagious now! *hmpf!* i thought after being oppressed too long by xian after doing projects with her, stephie would stand by my side and support me, instead of the act-clear xianxian!! but she disappoint me!! *sniff sniff and blows into hankie*

ahaaa..

and Chee Soon Juan and his team from the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP; commonly known as 反对党! haha) was giving out phamplets today in school, at Canteen B! =O woohoooo! hahahhaa. so totally stunned. and the phamplet information is like, so............ they come to a school full of foreigners and they go and write on the phamplet "those incriminating foreigners....." -_-'''' erm, ok lor. =X

oh wells! i shall go zzz... so tired after today! so glad wsc is still on thurs this wk! else i'll die after today's elections, so tiring!

tchao! =)

and so i decided to rant about silly stuff.

i have an uber irritating and useless zgr maths lecturer!
1) i can't understand what he's talking about half the time. i.e. distributive = "d stupid thief", rule = "rural".
2) he is so easily distracted that he pause for 5 seconds everytime somebody goes in and out of the LT, which is uber often.
3) i seriously suspect if he knows what's in his slides. everytime he clicks to move on to a new slide, he pauses for like 10 seconds to look at it, before he starts talking.
4) he lectures by reading the working shown on the slide. i said reading workings, not explaining.
5) when somebody feedback to him to present the workings on the spot during lecture so that we have a better understanding of how to get to the answer: he switches on the visualiser, and starts to say and write the working out at the same time. i said say, not explain. *rolls eyes* as if i don't know how to verbalize mathematical notations.
6) he doesn't know how to use the visualiser, so he took uber long to say and write the working.
7) he was writing halfway, when his pen ran out of ink.
8) on a one-hour lecture day: he allowed the SPMS ppl to come and campaign for their elections for like 20 freaking minutes, then spent another 20 freaking minutes reviewing (i.e. reading) the previous lecture, and spent the rest of the time going through like, 4 slides. wth! why do you think i go all out of the way to SPMS to listen to a lecture on 4 slides!! *pissed*
9) and he is so obviously behind time for the syllabus! the lecture doesn't even cover up to what we are supposed to do in tutorial!

zzz. i hope to bits that i never ever fail.

this is what deardear did on thursday:
- took bus 21 to get home.
- talked on the phone, settling his hall stuff.
- hung up the phone, and realised he exceeded by 2 stops.
- got off the bus, and went to the opposite side to take the bus back home.
- thinking it was only 2 stops away, so practically any bus can be taken, he hopped on to the 1st bus that came.
- it was bus 53, which went on the expressway straightaway, and landed him in the airport. -_-'''
- so he waited and waited and finally boarded bus 34 and reached home a gazillion years later.

this is what i did on friday:
- am supposed to take bus 39 from my house to khatib mrt, so that i can take train to yewtee and get to huiyu's hse. this is supposedly faster (1h only excluding waiting time) than taking train all the way from pasir ris to yewtee.
- so i crossed the road, and waited for bus 39.
- and cursed inwardly at the abnormally long 1/2hour wait, when the 39 at the opposite side keep going pass.
- when the bus finally came, i looked at it and it suddenly struck me that i was waiting at the side going towards TAMPINES (i always take it at that side when going to deardear's hse). -_-'''
- bwah! so i crossed the road to the correct side, and waited for like 15min for the correct bus to come.
- meanwhile, 3 bus 39s went past at the opposite side.
- eventually, i reached huiyu's hse 2 hours after i left home.

yes, i think that's reason enough for us to get married! =)

random pictures.

that's the maths textbook i bought 2nd hand from an NUS guy, that was 2 editions older than the one we were supposed to get! hahaha. and it was so old that it came with a floppy disk, that there's nowhere i can insert! wahahha~ nevertheless, the content's what i needed =)

and here's the crepe ernie and i went to eat tgt on sunday @ PS while shopping for yuyu's pressie! ^^ this is the one i ate - mushroom and cheese! ^^ and it's uber uber good, although it didn't look that good while they were making it. hahahaa~

and that's ernie and i camwhoring on the bus to town~ hahaha. he was testing my camera phone lah. aha. we boarded the new SMRT bus, that's basically similar to the new SBS bus, where you have to step up to get to the seats, although you're on a single-deck bus. i hated the SBS one! it was uberly weird, and looked so accident prone! hahaha. but the SMRT one is very nice, and have more comfy seats! and then the announcement goes "doors closing. beep beep beep beep beep beep beep" HAHAHA! familiar hor? =p

[bleah. i thought i rotated it liao! =X]
and this is the pressie ernie and i did for yuyu deardear!! ^^ ahaa. it's basically many many random purple stuff inside! lol. eh we took quite long to shop for it ok. hahaa. and i went to ernie's hall on wednesday to put and wrap everything nicely tgt! =)

and these were the random photos we took ytd at huiyu's party, while shouting over the table tennis match! and erm, it's not shown here anyway, but ernie was busy playing scissors paper stone with the pink doraemon -_-''' needless to say, we know who won. hahaa the rest of the big grp photos all with huiyu i guess. heh~

ok, tchao! meeting bert and mabbie! ^^

wah! so tiring!! so happening this week~

testing on mon tues, meeting with quli on wed where we were mercilessly bombarded with many many stuff to do, data entry and wsc ytd..blahblahblah.

we finally completed testing at one of our 'major client' kindergaten! hahaha. not client lah. just that they contributed like half of the kids we tested. lol.

anyway, i think to date, we've tested like 56 kids liao =)=)=) *happy!* i think we were very efficient!! heh. and of coz, kudos to ah gong, who was the one who successfully looked for most of the kindergartens/daycares.. lol. he should run for biz mag! -_-''' hahaha~

anyway, the boyfriend's joined wsc too! yay! =) although the interview was funny.. hahaa. nevertheless, DEARDEAR I LOVE YOU!! =)=)

wsc is getting better i think. as in tuition was better ytd compared to the previous week. though eventually they might not do that well, but at least we tried our best to help them given such limited time. also, it felt nice that they were very willing to learn! =) sometimes i think they just lack a chance. hmmm!

meanwhile, our blk volunteers is decreasing in size...hahahaa. but nvm!! the leftover ones are the good ones!! wahahaha~ anyway, got new batch coming in le..so yayy! =) hope they'll be good. heh

and they're changing the sessions to wednesday!! which means i'm gonna dieeeeee~ bleah! i don't like that! i've 9.30 lessons on thurs! will be so tireddddd. and even after i reach home earlier on thurs evenings, i'll still be too tired to do anything. bleah! and wednesday was kind of like my peak study day! now it's taken awayyyy =(( *sigh* tingting must readjust her circadian rhythm! ahahaa~

sch's bombaring more and more stimuli at us!! *pouts* and i am still wasting my long weekends away like now...... hahahah.

HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY YUYU DEARDEAR!!! ^^ I LOVE YOU! HAVE A WHOOOOOOOPING BIRTHDAY, AND SEE YOU LATER!! =)

Sunday, August 17, 2008

hey peeps~

thanks for your concern =) i'm just wasted out over some issues, but i won't die yet. walk one step, look one step now, see how =) i need lots of luck for the tingting fighting spirit to last though...

anyways, spent the day at deardear's house ytd. it felt rather like a getaway from all my troubles =) deardear and family is really nice! heh. kind of like making regular trips there now and then, and enjoying them ^^

and day out today was fun too. felt so much better after the shopping trip~ =)) we ate crepes from PS Saybons btw! i had the cheese and mushroom one and it was fantastic!! =) lazy to upload photo now~ busy anyways. so will do it when i'm free~ aha.

oh yea, wsc welcome tea on friday was very nice too!! i think all the subgroups looked good. i felt especially touched watching the ID (Intellectually Disabled) one! feel like joining it next year, but doubt i'll have the time =( it's on a Saturday anyway, so i think it'll be quite hard to commit. sighh. i kind of miss volunteering at SAAC. was really considering going back there this sem! but i duno if i'll be able to commit with RA and all that other stuff.. hmmms. and i saw one of the kids while i was out one day last week! aha. but he was quite a distance away, with his mum, so didnt call out to him. don't think he'll recognise me anyways. but it got me wondering how he and the rest of the kids are doing now.. hmmm!

i guess i kind of have a 'fetish' for volunteer work.. it gives you the satisfying and happy kind of feeling you can never get elsewhere! especially when working with kids!! =) i think i'm crazy, but i feel happy and touched even when i watch videos of ppl doing volunteer work! =XX sigh. i wish i never have to work! then i seriously wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life doing different sorts of volunteering work, and point is i'll be very very happy!! ahhh. bleah! hahaa.

alrights. i've lots of work undone. duno what i was doing the whole wkend also. hahaa. long weekends are seriously a waste on me! why i can't i just utilize my time properly!! *pouts*

tchao!
i am just so freaking tired.

every night i go to slp hoping it's a dream, and i'll wake up to a sunny cheery back-to-normal life.

is there supposed to be some unwritten rule that delusions actually make things worse?

i'm sorry i imagined and worked towards and hoped for the best.

now give me back my happiness, and a clear-minded, restful slp.

what would i be without you?
standing in the middle of nowhere all alone.
caught, torn, ripped apart inside.
there is only so much that can be done.
and so much i told myself i can do.

but, with you.
i learnt to challenge my limits.
do the impossible.

but i failed.

i really tried.
and i tried again;
tried the impossible again.
tried to save what i love.
what and whom i care for.
again and again.
i tried.

i thought i saw some light.
a teeny ray of hope.
alas, happiness is elusive.
it slips away from you when you thought you've got it forever.

i failed again.
pulling myself down.
down, down, down together with all.

all for trying.
for trying too hard to achieve what i knew was impossible.
for trying to change one thing at a time.
for hoping we will all be happy eventually when the time comes.
exhaustion and hurt was what i reaped.

no, i don't think i deserve all these.
including you.
your support and love i sought to turn to when i was all torn and tattered.
torn again and again on my left, right there.

and i got more than i sought.

i found support;
felt the love;
heard the first nice thing after all that shit.
i found happiness again;
felt the reassurance, so strong it threw me right off;
heard the sweetest things i could ever get.

i tried and i failed.
bcoz i was standing alone.

but how can i fail again,
when i have you with me by my side forever?

tell me how i could possibly fail.
teach me how i could ever fail.
make me imagine us failing.
let me see how we fall.

that, that, that, and that.
i bet you don't have an answer for me.

coz with you holding me tight,
singing our tune in harmony,
we will never have a chance at failure again.

for that or not for that,
i still do not have a reason why.
why i love you so.

and maybe in all the midst of constantly writing me off as a nice and understanding girl,
it was forgotten that i am essentially just a girl.

Life and How to Survive It
By Adrian Tan, taken from Amos

I must say thank you to the faculty and staff of the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information for inviting me to give your convocation address. It’s a wonderful honour and a privilege for me to speak here for ten minutes without fear of contradiction, defamation or retaliation. I say this as a Singaporean and more so as a husband.

My wife is a wonderful person and perfect in every way except one. She is the editor of a magazine. She corrects people for a living. She has honed her expert skills over a quarter of a century, mostly by practising at home during conversations between her and me.

On the other hand, I am a litigator. Essentially, I spend my day telling people how wrong they are. I make my living being disagreeable.

Nevertheless, there is perfect harmony in our matrimonial home. That is because when an editor and a litigator have an argument, the one who triumphs is always the wife.

And so I want to start by giving one piece of advice to the men: when you’ve already won her heart, you don’t need to win every argument.

Marriage is considered one milestone of life. Some of you may already be married. Some of you may never be married. Some of you will be married. Some of you will enjoy the experience so much, you will be married many, many times. Good for you.

The next big milestone in your life is today: your graduation. The end of education. You’re done learning.

You’ve probably been told the big lie that “Learning is a lifelong process” and that therefore you will continue studying and taking masters’ degrees and doctorates and professorships and so on. You know the sort of people who tell you that? Teachers. Don’t you think there is some measure of conflict of interest? They are in the business of learning, after all. Where would they be without you? They need you to be repeat customers.

The good news is that they’re wrong.

The bad news is that you don’t need further education because your entire life is over. It is gone. That may come as a shock to some of you. You’re in your teens or early twenties. People may tell you that you will live to be 70, 80, 90 years old. That is your life expectancy.

I love that term: life expectancy. We all understand the term to mean the average life span of a group of people. But I’m here to talk about a bigger idea, which is what you expect from your life.

You may be very happy to know that Singapore is currently ranked as the country with the third highest life expectancy. We are behind Andorra and Japan, and tied with San Marino. It seems quite clear why people in those countries, and ours, live so long. We share one thing in common: our football teams are all hopeless. There’s very little danger of any of our citizens having their pulses raised by watching us play in the World Cup. Spectators are more likely to be lulled into a gentle and restful nap.

Singaporeans have a life expectancy of 81.8 years. Singapore men live to an average of 79.21 years, while Singapore women live more than five years longer, probably to take into account the additional time they need to spend in the bathroom.

So here you are, in your twenties, thinking that you’ll have another 40 years to go. Four decades in which to live long and prosper.

Bad news. Read the papers. There are people dropping dead when they’re 50, 40, 30 years old. Or quite possibly just after finishing their convocation. They would be very disappointed that they didn’t meet their life expectancy.

I’m here to tell you this. Forget about your life expectancy.

After all, it’s calculated based on an average. And you never, ever want to expect being average.

Revisit those expectations. You might be looking forward to working, falling in love, marrying, raising a family. You are told that, as graduates, you should expect to find a job paying so much, where your hours are so much, where your responsibilities are so much.

That is what is expected of you. And if you live up to it, it will be an awful waste.

If you expect that, you will be limiting yourself. You will be living your life according to boundaries set by average people. I have nothing against average people. But no one should aspire to be them. And you don’t need years of education by the best minds in Singapore to prepare you to be average.

What you should prepare for is mess. Life’s a mess. You are not entitled to expect anything from it. Life is not fair. Everything does not balance out in the end. Life happens, and you have no control over it. Good and bad things happen to you day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment. Your degree is a poor armour against fate.

Don’t expect anything. Erase all life expectancies. Just live. Your life is over as of today. At this point in time, you have grown as tall as you will ever be, you are physically the fittest you will ever be in your entire life and you are probably looking the best that you will ever look. This is as good as it gets. It is all downhill from here. Or up. No one knows.

What does this mean for you? It is good that your life is over.

Since your life is over, you are free. Let me tell you the many wonderful things that you can do when you are free.

The most important is this: do not work.

Work is anything that you are compelled to do. By its very nature, it is undesirable.

Work kills. The Japanese have a term “Karoshi”, which means death from overwork. That’s the most dramatic form of how work can kill. But it can also kill you in more subtle ways. If you work, then day by day, bit by bit, your soul is chipped away, disintegrating until there’s nothing left. A rock has been ground into sand and dust.

There’s a common misconception that work is necessary. You will meet people working at miserable jobs. They tell you they are “making a living”. No, they’re not. They’re dying, frittering away their fast-extinguishing lives doing things which are, at best, meaningless and, at worst, harmful.

People will tell you that work ennobles you, that work lends you a certain dignity. Work makes you free. The slogan "Arbeit macht frei" was placed at the entrances to a number of Nazi concentration camps. Utter nonsense.

Do not waste the vast majority of your life doing something you hate so that you can spend the small remainder sliver of your life in modest comfort. You may never reach that end anyway.

Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play. Find something you enjoy doing. Do it. Over and over again. You will become good at it for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often. Soon, that will have value in itself.

I like arguing, and I love language. So, I became a litigator. I enjoy it and I would do it for free. If I didn’t do that, I would’ve been in some other type of work that still involved writing fiction – probably a sports journalist.

So what should you do? You will find your own niche. I don’t imagine you will need to look very hard. By this time in your life, you will have a very good idea of what you will want to do. In fact, I’ll go further and say the ideal situation would be that you will not be able to stop yourself pursuing your passions. By this time you should know what your obsessions are. If you enjoy showing off your knowledge and feeling superior, you might become a teacher.

Find that pursuit that will energise you, consume you, become an obsession. Each day, you must rise with a restless enthusiasm. If you don’t, you are working.

Most of you will end up in activities which involve communication. To those of you I have a second message: be wary of the truth. I’m not asking you to speak it, or write it, for there are times when it is dangerous or impossible to do those things. The truth has a great capacity to offend and injure, and you will find that the closer you are to someone, the more care you must take to disguise or even conceal the truth. Often, there is great virtue in being evasive, or equivocating. There is also great skill. Any child can blurt out the truth, without thought to the consequences. It takes great maturity to appreciate the value of silence.

In order to be wary of the truth, you must first know it. That requires great frankness to yourself. Never fool the person in the mirror.

I have told you that your life is over, that you should not work, and that you should avoid telling the truth. I now say this to you: be hated.

It’s not as easy as it sounds. Do you know anyone who hates you? Yet every great figure who has contributed to the human race has been hated, not just by one person, but often by a great many. That hatred is so strong it has caused those great figures to be shunned, abused, murdered and in one famous instance, nailed to a cross.

One does not have to be evil to be hated. In fact, it’s often the case that one is hated precisely because one is trying to do right by one’s own convictions. It is far too easy to be liked, one merely has to be accommodating and hold no strong convictions. Then one will gravitate towards the centre and settle into the average. That cannot be your role. There are a great many bad people in the world, and if you are not offending them, you must be bad yourself. Popularity is a sure sign that you are doing something wrong.

The other side of the coin is this: fall in love.

I didn’t say “be loved”. That requires too much compromise. If one changes one’s looks, personality and values, one can be loved by anyone.

Rather, I exhort you to love another human being. It may seem odd for me to tell you this. You may expect it to happen naturally, without deliberation. That is false. Modern society is anti-love. We’ve taken a microscope to everyone to bring out their flaws and shortcomings. It far easier to find a reason not to love someone, than otherwise. Rejection requires only one reason. Love requires complete acceptance. It is hard work – the only kind of work that I find palatable.

Loving someone has great benefits. There is admiration, learning, attraction and something which, for the want of a better word, we call happiness. In loving someone, we become inspired to better ourselves in every way. We learn the truth worthlessness of material things. We celebrate being human. Loving is good for the soul.

Loving someone is therefore very important, and it is also important to choose the right person. Despite popular culture, love doesn’t happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm.

You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the heart.

You will also find that it is no great tragedy if your love is not reciprocated. You are not doing it to be loved back. Its value is to inspire you.

Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to loving someone. You either don’t, or you do with every cell in your body, completely and utterly, without reservation or apology. It consumes you, and you are reborn, all the better for it.

Don’t work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone.

You’re going to have a busy life. Thank goodness there’s no life expectancy.

Was blog-hopping when i found this interesting convocation speech. It was given by Adrian Tan, during NTU Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information's convocation. I think it's really good! And, if you're wondering, yes, we're talking about the Adrian Tan who wrote Teenage Textbook back in the 1980s. If you haven't read the book, you should! It's like one of the best-est local book ever written! =)

And i think this convo speech is really all-encompassing and thought-provoking, yea? Not too long, yet covers what most graduating students are going to be facing - work and love. =)

I absolutely love this man!
Happy Birthday, Singapore!! =) *looks at calendar* haha better late than never lah. =)

Ahh.. this is a good time for a holiday!! haha. coz we all know we're still not over the fact that the 3 months hols are over!! hahaha. so this will be a good transition for us to weep over school starting after we have our 1 week of lectures and realised school is really starting. ahahaa~

anyways, i went to my da gu's new house at old airport road on fri. and her house has a nice view of the city area! it's like less than 10min walk away from the kallang stadium! and since it's like on the 14th floor or sth lidat, there's also a really nice view of the buildings across suntec and stuff, and can even see Singapore Flyer!! wooots!

on top of that, there's a few markets around, and we went to have nice food!! ^^ and i ate freshly-made-on-the-spot chee cheong fun for the first time!! hahaa. ok maybe it's not the first time they make it on the spot, just the first time i SEE the person making on the spot in front of my eyes after i order. and i declare i'm officially fascinated by the way they make chee cheong fun~ =) yay! i love char siew chee cheong fun!! *grins*

oh, and sat was a roar. i think i had a very all-rounded day!

?

1. I went to tutor my cousins in the morning.

2. Then on the way to meet deardear after lunch, i finished reading the last harry potter book, and i was so upset coz i realised there's no harry potter anymore after that =( The book was good btw!! But then again, my view is warped, coz ppl think not good i think good, ppl think good i think not good. Haha so ultimately, u should read for yourself to decide!

3. And we went shopping for deardear's clothes at Far East, and i got so amazed!! He can actually be so focused, and before starting to shop, decide what he wants to get, and after start shopping, just stick to looking at that particular range of clothes only. Any other very nice and cheap but unrelated to his shopping list, he doesn't bother looking at all. So he easily finished his shopping in less than an hour, and i could only sputter in amazement. o_O Haha. Sadly speaking, this type of thing will never happen to me. I cannot imagine myself declaring - OK! I'm done shopping!! =) No, no amount of shopping is enough for a bimbo. She can just spend all the time and money shopping, provided she has both, which she doesn't at the moment. =( Hahaha..

4. We stoned in town, getting bored, not knowing what to do, not even knowing how to answer some foreigners' question about how to get to HSBC -_-''' hahahaa~

5. In the end, we walked to the bus stop, looking randomly for whatever bus is available to take us away from the crowd and nothingness in town. And deardear wanted chinese cuisine for dinner, and we saw a bus to Parkway Parade, so i decided to bring him to......*drum rolls*.... LAO XIANG GANG!!! *ta-dah!!* for dinner. Hahaaaha.

6. So we boarded 36 and watched a little of the NDP pre-parade segment on tv mobile. And when the bus went past the city area, everyone kept looking out towards Singapore Flyer, like expecting to see some parachute or something. But no, they were pointing at nothing. *gives weird look*

7. And we alighted in a drizzle opposite Parkway Parade, and walked through Roxy Square and blah, to Katong Lao Xiang Gang!!! ^^ *tingting starts getting high*

8. Arrived in the nicely air-conditioned place, after walking in the cold cold rain. So, wanting very much to drink Ice Milk Tea, yet being very cold at the same time, we ordered...

1 iced milk tea,

and 1 hot milk tea.

haha, i think i have good deceptive photography skills. i made the hot milk tea look like the size of ah gong's odac curry pot. woohoooo! lol~ restaurants should hire me to take food photos for them. i'll make their business flourish like nobody's business! *grins*

Anyways, the hot milk tea was a mistake; it tasted totally odd and bitter! Haha, i shall never drink hot milk tea again. =XX As usual, the cold one was nice like nobody's business! ^^

Then, we took like more than 20 minutes deciding what to order!! Hahaa. And i felt like so ripped apart, looking at the menu. Especially the dim sum menu!! We only have 2 ppl, so we can't order so much, but everything reminded me about how floatingly heavenly nice it was the last time i went to eat with bert&co., so i kind of felt that i was betraying the dim sum if i only order it's other neighbouring dim sum =((

So deardear suggested ordering the main course first..

And this was his Curry Brisket Rice! Haha, it's the first time i'm eating Beef curry!! And theirs was really nice! Nicer than the pictures look i think~ =))

And this is yours truly's Baked Rice with Fish Fillet, topped with Mushroom Sauce, plus Extra Cheese! *grins happily* It's so awfully niceeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! ^^

And to be fair to all the dim sum, and prevent myself from being the qian gu zui ren, i pointed out which dim sum were nice, and deardear chose TWO from my like many many 6 or 7 choices. hahahhaa.

So, the winners were...

Pan-fried erm, Turnip Pudding or something like that?? =XX hahahhaa~ i can't rmb the name for nuts! You just have to know it's take-a-bite, fly-to-the-sky quality!! =)

And the second winner was Xiao Long Bao!! =) It was very very nice too! But i personally feel that there has been nicer xiao long bao in history~ Hahaha.

And of coz the very feared and sad thing had to happen - the skin tore, and the soup flowed out!!! *cries and wails and grieves for 1 minute* =((

Yay~ And deardear agreed with me that all the food was very very very nice, albeit being a little ex.. Hahaa. =) I love Lao Xiang Gang to bits, i swear! I was just a little sad ytd, coz got so much nice stuff we couldn't order coz there was only the two of us. So, somebody pls organise a mass outing there, so we can order a lot a lot of the dim sum, and the yummy french toast, and the dessert, and the har gow, and the chee cheong fun, and the ... and the ... ... .... hahahaa~ YAY!!!! i always get uber high thinking about Lao Xiang Gang!! It's my most most most fav fav fav-est hongkie restaurant in singapore!! ^^

And i was very excited about all the food, even after dinner last night! Hahahaa. Coz i realise all the food looks very nice in my new hp camera!! Wahahah~ And looking at the nice food photos, i was suddenly very happy i waited for so long to get my desired hp!! Hahahahaa.. I can't believe i love my camera coz of the food photos i took with it! I'm such a bimbo glutton!! =XXX

Lol.

And, we had to take photos of the signboard and stuff of coz...

And i think the photos all look kind of weird, coz the lighting was quite poor, and we were all uber sian diao, after so many failed attempts to take a proper photo! =(

And so i decided to take the lovely signboard and stuff =))

PPL pls go to Lao Xiang Gang!! Tingting highly recommends for hongkie food lovers!! ^^ Prices are slightly above average though. Like we ate all that for about $33 ytd. They do charge the 7% GST, but there's NO service charge though! =) They serve steamboat too!! But also quite ex i think. Bert ate before, can ask him whether it's nice or not. Hahahaa.

Anyways, it's at 86 East Coast Road, Blk A Katong Village, #01-01/10,, and it's open 24 hours x 365 days!! Can go there for supper or during cny too! ^^ It's kind of opposite Aston btw! Lols. So if you're feeling reallyyyy hungry, you can go for both!! Wahahaha~

Ok, back to my agenda for the day...

9. So, after a very very full and uberly satisfying meal, we started strolling and talking happily. And we walked and walked and walked, and unknowingly finished the whole stretch of East Coast Road, and walked on to like BEDOK, before we stopped at a bus stop after more than an hour, and took bus 12 back to Pasir Ris. Yay~ Uber lor. We walked like more than 10 or 15 bus stops, and it felt so nice clinging on to deardear and walking in the cool night breeze! ^^ *happy!* I think we about burned off all the fats we consumed!! tee-hee. =D

10. And after bathing and stuff when i reach home, i started reading the Adolescent lecture notes...until meimei sms me to nag me to go online reply her email! hahahaha~

11. So i went online, confirmed Elections stuff here and there, chatted with meimei,

12. and did my weekly report and stuff for RA, and replied the many many questions quli bombarded us with.

13. And then waited for deardear to finish his game of dota, and i started uploading yummy photos plus photos of ah xuan taken last wk! ^^

hahaaha. I think she's a natural!! ^^

hehh. off to help mummy with some bai bai stuff. bleahs. gotta study later!!! hahaha~

and btw, today is my lunar birthday! happy birthday to me!! =)) ahahaa~

the first week of school is officially over! and i'm generally quite happy so far, coz i only went to school for 2 days this week!! wahahaa~ supposed to be a 3day1hr week, but bcoz of the not-started-yet tutorials, this week only had to go to school for 2 days~ lalalaa!

anyway, made an appeal to change my tutorial slot, but i think i'll self-declare a 3day wk no matter the outcome of the appeal! =X nyahaha~ i am SO not going to spend 4 hours getting to and fro sch for a 1-hour class!

enjoying most of my mods so far, albeit they're really heavy. and yes, one of the prof even commented that more than 50% of the last cohort failed the finals. *faints* hopefully it'll be better this year! hahaa~

was nice meeting owtenos and other sa peeps btw :) hope we get to meet up more regularly! hahaa. hopefully not at can b next time =X but hey! i think the ambience there is nicer than can a now liao. hahaha. oh wells~

oh and i saw the darling gungun as well! *grins* who told me a boringly typical story of himself. stop giving false alarms leh!! *gives very bored look* hahaa~

school started ytd! =)

haha, had no lessons on monday this week, so my first school day started officially ytd! =)

went for testing @ tampines in the morning, until 11.30am, then cabbed down to school for my 12.30pm maths lec, which was at the new SPMS (School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences) building! hahaa. it was my first time stepping into the building, and i didn't know where the LT was, except that it was on the 4th floor, so i just blindly went up to the 4th floor, and started walking around. signboards weren't helpful either.

i emerged door after door, and soon found myself walking past all the profs' office. then i spotted my last sem maths lecturer. and obviously, i didn't expect him to recognise me, so i was about to walk off, when he went "hi!". and i was so stunned. hahaha. so i hi-ed back, and might as well asked him, "uhhh.. do you happen to know where's LT1?" and he was so nice! he walked anti-the direction he was heading to point out to me where it was! =)

haha, and after i thanked him, he still continue saying "i remember your name! you are TAN...or TANG...something. HUI...HUITING is it?" *STUNNED!!!* "WOW! you still can remember!?" "haha ya, you from my tutorial ma.." hahahhaa. okay, i was so totally impressed coz i remember he took like at least 3 or 4 tutorials i think. and he read off the name list everytime he called our name in class. and besides giving out test papers, he only called on me like 2 or 3 other times. hahaa ok. now i know i have a super memory lecturer. o_O this type of ppl, cannot de zui! or else he'll rmb your full name for life!!! lol. but he's a nice person la. lol.

haha. then after maths lec, had to rush to another part of the school for another lecture.. which was about Learning, and which i think will be quite interesting! =)

and we had this sob story about textbooks buying after that!

see, our 2-hour lecture ended in slightly pass 1 hour, so it was still very early. and we headed to Popular to get our textbooks. then they said one of the textbooks NIE Bookstore got and it's cheaper. so xian and i just bought one book that NIE don't have, and decided to get the other two books at NIE after the next lecture ends at 5.30pm.

so we went on for the next lecture, which was about Adolescent and uber interesting as well. and after it ended, xian and i tracked to NIE hotly and hungrily munching apple pie and curry puff. then we reached the bookstore, and hey presto! 1 book out of stock already, 1 book never even come! -_-'''

so we called stephie & co. who were at Popular, and asked them help us get the books first and wait for us go there pay money. then they said one of the books, all the seniors said teacher never use at all, so in the end we only bought one other book after reaching Popular again. and the thing was, if we purchase above $80 in a single receipt, got goodie bag. but bcoz we bought 2 books separately, which also totalled to above $80, they didn't want to give us the goodie bag!!! -_-''' *HMPHHH!*

haha ok. so i had no school today, and slacked around, until 3+pm, before going out to bind my stuff, and ended up sitting at a Macdonalds to drink and read my Harry Potter until it was time to go meet deardear. hahaha. and i swear the book was uber sad! i read until i sit alone in the middle of Mac crying myself~ -_-''' damn paiseh can. hahahah. lucky i was sitting at this dimly litted corner, and the book was quite big to cover my face with~ =XX hahahah

anyway, we went back to school to settle some stuff, coz deardear is moving out of hall again soon -_-''' hahahaha~ yes, like less than a wk after he moved in. ahaha. yeaps. and after that we went to Clementi coz deardear wanted to try Botak Jones, which we both concluded (actually i already concluded before that, haha) is much much inferior to Aston. hahaa~

lalalaaa. tmr is gonna be a long and tiring day again! 9.30am lessons~ wsc at nite~ *yawns* hahaha. meeting ernie, huiyu, and maybe kacuah, sisi for lunch though! =) mini s12 gathering that too many ppl couldn't come. haha

tchao~

wooo! spent the whole day with deardear ytd! ^^ so happy!! hehe. seems like very long never like that since school days le leh. duno why, maybe it's coz we met in school or sth, so everytime go back to school with him i feel happy! =X hehee.

hahaa yeap. so nwae, we went back to school ytd to help him move his stuff into hall! bwah. no, i still can't get hall, so must help other ppl move into hall instead =XX hahahaha!

yeap. then we wanted to go for sakae buffet, but ended up wkend dun have! *feels cheated by wluekwluek* nwae, we ended up having the ala carte, which wasn't very satisfactory also.. ahahaa. think i just felt angsty maybe. but hey! deardear also said it wasn't very good...in comparison with Sun With Moon. wahahah! =P

*lazy to rotate some of the photos* haha

and then, deardear had coupon for complementary swensens icecream, and we wanted to have them in airport since i keep complaining i nv go T3 before! hahaha. so we decided to have them after dinner. meanwhile, we cracked our brains, cracked until going to bao zha le, duno where to go. so we ended up exploring downtown east since it was on our list of let's-do-this-together-one-day =XX hahaha. we have a huge list of to-dos! so much so that we've decided that one day we should sit down proper to write down the list!! hahahaha~

anyway, downtown east was not bad. the E! Hub was really purely entertainment. haha not for shopping. but it was still nice pator-ing there. eh heh.

then we cracked our brains again for where to go for dinner, and decided that since deardear never eat Popeyes before, i shall bring him there (airport T1)! ^^

*TA-DAH!!*
wheeeeeee!! i found my long lost fav mashed potato!! *nyahahaa*

after that we finally went to explore T3!! nyahaha.

our first destination was the Crowne Plaza, which is actually the airport hotel! which i think isn't a very nice name for a hotel =XX but it was really nice inside!! ahaa. we hung out at the lounge for very long, just nua-ing around. and we've decided it's our new fav nua-ing spot. wahahaha. and then, nua-ing had to turn into camwhoring, coz i decided the place was too nice. wahaha!

*i tot it looked like many many potatos hahaa* they're all sewed together btw! heh.

ok, this photo was snapped when deardear was still busy pushing up his spects and i didnt know so the shutter went off and...
woooo! the *points to nose bridge* became the new camwhore pose!

wahahhaa. so deardear was full of protests and insisted that since it's the 'in' thing, i should do it too....

so i ended up looking drunk =XX hahaa~

then, it was deardear's turn to look drunk...

hahaa..

and of coz, there must be the classic boring pose...

and then i started exploring my hp camera's Frames... and made deardear tk this...

wahahaha! damn funny right!! i seriously think he looks good in curry puff hair! lol. then fo coz, he had to make me do it too... =X
i think i don't look as nice in curry puff.. haha but at least i bothered to open my mouth to look more realistic! wahahaa. but somebody insisted it's his phototaking scales good.. ok lorrrrr. =)

and then, somebody started complaining about how FF&F (fenfen & feng! hahaa) got scandalous photo, and we don't have, and how he was jealous yada yada...

so ben xiao jie was nice enough to let him shoot to fame in an instant! ahahaa~

then we scrolled further, and deardear became totally estatic at this....
ok, so i finally took a proper scandal photo with an unknown happy guy with his eyes covered.

hahahaa! ooops. i wanted to cover my eyes too! but it was too hard to do that when you're camwhoring.. lol.

that's the more normal frame..

and then there were the failed attempts to look like a taitai...

sigh. i'm fated not to be a taitai! =(

oh, notice the change in couch by the way! hahaa~ so we had to take more photos on this different couch! =X

and we noticed no matter how hard we tried to change the angle, the light only shone at me! wahahaha~ damn funny.. poor deardear~ he complained that the light is biased, only shine on girls =XX hahahaha~

yeap, and this was at the lobby too.. kind of a cafe like that though.. can order stuff..

think the airport hotel's really niceeeee! got the posh look. hahaa. but they could seriously do with a more outstanding name though =X

so after we finally camwhored for very long at the hotel lobby, we went to look around the rest of T3! hahaa, deardear said it was supposed to be quite forest-themed. and i think it's quite cool!

well, apart from the mossy-looking wall.. hahaaa. it reminded me of the wall sleeping beauty's prince had to climb to go and save her! wahahaa~ =X

heh. and after exploring finish T3, we went to eat our complementary icecreams!! ^^
Firehouse Happy Birthday. eh we just thought it was nice so we ordered, not coz of anyone's bday. hahaa. and we made a wish together, and blow out the candle! lol.

Banana Split. was chef's recommendation, so we ordered lor. very nice too!

yayy~~ uber happy out with deardear ytd! hehe. i love my deardear!! wheeee! *sigh* if only we can play like that everyday... =X

....guess what?

school's starting.

drats.
