If one were to believe the Book of Genesis, humans' dislike for snakes resulted from a divine intervention: To avenge the snake's luring of Eve to taste the fruit of knowledge, God instituted eternal enmity between their descendants.

(Ohman and Mineka, 2003)

Ok, so fearing snakes is supposed to be evolutionarily adaptive?

So how did the whole concept of evolutionarily adaptive behaviors and furthering reproductive success evolved, if not for the snake who showed Eve what is sex?

Hmmm.

(And that was in no way any offense meant)
